Over 100 retail brands are estimated to partake in this fest, including local brands as well as labels from Indonesia and Singapore. From designed apparel, to accessories, to cosmetics, the latest styles of women related products will be seen at WFM2017.
“We are very pleased with how our vision of this festival is taking shape. WFM will serve as a fashion, beauty and lifestyle business network that is festive for women, to create awareness about local designers and retailers. We have a variety of programs lined up, which includes beauty and fashion tutorials, workshops, pampering lounge areas, and sharing sessions by selection of speakers that we believe will enrich women with knowledge of beauty and fashion trends, as well as the local brand market,” revealed Zairul Haziq, a spokesperson for Firm Motion.
YB Dato’ Sri Rohani Abdul Karim, the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development shared, “The amount of Malaysian women who are aware of breast health is surprisingly low as only an average of about 70% in 5,738 Malaysian women had undergone breast self-examination and clinical checks. We have continuously developed initiatives in helping women combat breast cancer since 2007, which includes the implementation of the Mamogram Test Subsidy Program organised by the National Population and Family Development Board. This is one of the government initiatives to help women undergo mammogram screening via a subsidised approach, to further increase women’s awareness of breast health as well as the importance of early detection of breast cancer.”
WFM2017 is set to be held at MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre Kuala Lumpur on the 28th and 29th October 2017. They will also be collecting donations in support of the campaign by Breast Cancer Welfare Agencies and in conjunction with the Pink October campaign (Breast Cancer Awareness month). A mobile breast cancer check-up truck will be providing education on the importance of pre-examination consultation together with free mammograms.
