This memorial was designed as a symbol of the nation's gratitude towards Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the first Prime Minister and architect of Malaysian independence, who continues to be revered and remembered fondly today by Malaysians.
Inside the two-storey building is Tunku's official residence during his tenure as the first Prime Minister. The other two blocks of the premise consist of the exhibits of his belongings. The last official car he used is parked outside of the building. If you'd like to know more about the history of Malaysia's independence, you might want to spend two hours or more here.
