‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend’ is not just famous a song title, but also a saying that many men and women will nod their heads to. Not limited to diamonds, precious jewellery of all sorts can capture hearts with their radiating elegance. Whether you’re looking for something special for a loved one or keeping up with jewellery trends, mark your calendars for the Malaysian International Jewellery Festival (MIJF).
MIJF makes its extravagant 30th return this month, open to the public at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Since 1994, MIJ Exhibition has been a pioneer in international jewellery exhibitions, organising the festival twice a year with the spring and autumn editions. A platform designed to attract local and international jewellers and buyers, MIJF gathers exhibitors from various countries who will be showcasing their latest designs and collections.
The spring MIJF this year is expecting 40 exhibitors from around the world who will be marketing items ranging from gemstones and pearls to timepieces and equipment for jewellery production.
Some of the exhibitors include Lecumiya and Meiwa from Japan, presenting handmade trinkets and pearls, Thida Gems from Myanmar offering natural gem stones, Personal Design from Hong Kong with unique jade pieces and gold products Malaysian-based Chiang Heng.
The exhibition is also a great opportunity to grab exclusive deals on necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings and more, and with a variety of price ranges on well-known brands, you’ll be able to buy whatever takes your fancy without breaking the bank.
While you’re browsing through your favourite pieces in the exhibition, don’t miss out on the line-up of events that will be happening. Enjoy some light bites while watching exquisite pieces being flaunted during the jewellery fashion show high tea.
Learn more about precious stones from American jeweller The Gem Lab as they will be presenting an introductory session on gemstones including diamonds, rubies, sapphires, pearls and jades. As jewellery may also be incorporated into daily life, The Golden Space Malaysia will highlight the benefits of crystals for the heart and root chakra, and conduct a five-minute meditation.
