MIJF has become a bastion of jewellery over the years, and it’s aiming to outdo itself in this iteration. Things kick off on a high note at the opening ceremony, as Guest of Honour Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin graces MIJF with her royal presence. Subsequently, a projected 15,000 visitors is expected to wind their way through the event over the four days, perusing the twinkly offerings of some 200 exhibitors.
Walk-ins are not only made privy to the trendiest designs and Spring collections, as they can make contact with the folks behind the precious stones, accessories, tools, services and more, who are rich with valuable industry news and market developments. Even more substantial information can be gleaned off the jewellery trade seminars and public workshops.
Not to be eclipsed, of course, is the veritable constellation of opulent jewels, gemstones, shiny metals and the like from around the world dotting the fair – the freshest picks of the season which adore the consideration and appreciation of beholders, whether of the casual or connoisseur variety. Close to 100,000 pieces by 100 brands from countries including Italy, Belgium, the UAE, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia ensure that there’s a healthy diversity of stunning jewellery to perceive.
Grab a good vantage point in the Luxurious Jewellery Fashion Show, and gaze at glitzy ornamentations as they are meant to be gracefully flaunted on skin and dress. Private tea parties and interesting ancillary events fill up the schedule too, leaving visitors with loads of options of what to do. For the ultra-discerning, the Luxurious Jewellery-Viewing Section entails an exclusive showcase of alluring, unique collections that potential customers can try on for size.
Meanwhile, the Spend & Win special has some great prizes; jewellery sets totalling RM10,000, complimentary jewellery-cleaning services,
