Brighten up your fitness routine at The Color Run MalaysiaYou’re never too old to have a little fun with coloured powder – at least that’s what the organisers of what is slated as the ‘happiest 5k on the planet’ believe. Taking place for the second time since 2014, the Color Run Malaysia is a unique fun run where participants (naturally called ‘Color Runners’), embark on a dazzling journey of colour, music, dance and friendship all in the name of health and a rollicking good time.
Taking place in the lush fields of Padang Merbok, near the National Monument, this year’s theme is Tropicolor, with the entire track designed to reflect a tropical vacation. Think inflatable palm trees, arches and island-style music!
Expect to be bathed in nature-inspired hues at every kilometre as you make your way to the finish line. And the fun doesn’t stop there – every runner gets a medal once they cross the finish line, as well as instant access to the Finish Festival. Here, they’ll party it up with local hotshot DJ Biggie at the specially designated Rainbow Beach, complete with inflatable beach balls, massive colour throws and plenty of photo ops with fun props. Groove along to Biggie’s head-banging mix of hip hop, R&B and dance music and get ready for a spectacular display of colourful mist to kick up the festivities.
Of course a run of this calibre would be nothing without a few big names. All the way from the UK comes actor and TV presenter James Thorne, who will be hosting the show alongside Malaysian fitness icon and radio DJ Linora Low, known for her energetic personality and charismatic spirit.
Tickets include special rates for family members, while every runner will receive a limited edition Tropicolor race T-shirt, headband and fun temporary tattoos. As a non-competitive run, there are no rules on time limit or pace. Participants can dance, sing or hop their way to the finish line. The only ‘rule’ you should follow is simple – start the race in a white shirt and end with it donning as many colours as possible! The Color Run Malaysia Where: Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur When: 6am (13 Aug) Admission: RM90 (Adult), RM45 (Child), RM225 (Family) thecolorrun.my
