Italian food never tasted so good! From now until 30 September, top shopping destination Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is offering hungry shoppers a chance to try the ‘Taste of Tuscany’ menu at its premier Italian outlet Azzurro Café, located on Level 2. The specially-curated menu offers gourmands a chance to sample the original ingredients and flavours from this rich and diverse region in Italy.
The menu aims to promote a truly Tuscan experience and was a collaboration between Pavilion KL, the Embassy of Italy as well as the Italian Trade Commission.
On September 14, Pavilion KL hosted a private appreciation dinner for invited guests and media friends to sample the ‘Taste of Tuscany’ menu, as part of the month-long Journey of Taste campaign.
Apart from the prestigious guest list, which featured some of the city’s movers and shakers, it was attended by Pavilion KL CEO of Retail, Joyce Yap and the Director of the Italian Trade Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Dr. Andrea Ambra.
The food, prepared by award-winning chefs Sara Barbara Guadagnoli and Antonella Mercurio, came packed with truly authentic flavours. Truffles, flown in especially from Arezzo in the east of Tuscany, also featured largely on the menu, which included an array of starters, main courses, desserts and even a mouth-watering cheese selection.

Guests savoured baked ricotta cheese with rosemary and different types of bruschetta topped with tomato, peppers, chickpeas or green salsa, as well as panzanella bread salad – a dish unique to Tuscany.
An Italian meal would not be complete without some pasta and the menu generously offered four styles, including cheesy spaghetti cacio e pepe, creamy pennette with porcini mushroom and the lip-smacking tagliatelle truffle.
