Miss hanging out at local bars and pubs with the gang? With the implementation of the MCO, and now the CMCO, it has been almost four months since we’ve had to practise social distancing and adjust to new norms. As a result, all those fun nights out are slowly becoming distant memories – but it’s not just bar patrons who are in low spirits.
Due to the current restrictions, many businesses are struggling to stay afloat as there has been no steady revenue stream with the ongoing COVID-19 situation, which has unfortunately been followed by several closures already.
While many of us have the benefit of being able to work from home, working remotely is simply impractical for some people, such as bar and pub owners and their employees. However, together with Heineken Malaysia, we can do our part and contribute to assist them.
Heineken Malaysia has recently launched a brand-new platform called Raise Our Bars to help our local bars and pubs recover from financial strains once the restrictions are lifted. This one-stop platform is designed to make things simple for consumers to support their outlet of choice.
Raise Our Bars allows you to purchase a voucher for a beer, stout or cider from your preferred bar or pub and once the government removes the movement restriction order, all you have to do is drop by the outlet you’ve selected and claim your drink.
Here’s probably the best part of this initiative: With every drink you purchase via the Raise Our Bars platform, Heineken Malaysia will double it up by giving you another drink – on the house!
Sales Director of Heineken Malaysia Vasily Baranov said, “The past few months have been difficult for Malaysia’s bars and pubs, with many finding it difficult to recover from the financial hardships they have faced. To help them get through this challenging time, we have committed RM1 million to Raise Our Bars in addition to other support over the months. We believe that together we can help breathe life back into Malaysian bars and pubs.”
Currently, more than 750 outlets across the country have signed up to be a part of this initiative and Heineken Malaysia has pledged RM1 million to support these outlets on top of sponsoring the additional drinks as well as absorbing all extra fees and charges. This means that 100% of the profits will go directly to the chosen outlet to help them bounce back.
Do take note that vouchers can be redeemed from when bars are permitted to reopen right up till 31 August 2020. In the event that the selected outlet you buy from does not reopen after the CMCO, you will receive a full refund from Heineken Malaysia.
Handily, Heineken Malaysia has come up with the following 5Cs that customers should practise when visiting outlets to redeem their vouchers.
This promotion is only open to non-Muslims aged 21 and above and for those participating, enjoy responsibly and please do not drink and drive. Appoint a designated driver or simply arrange for a cab or an e-hailing vehicle. Together, we will keep the lights on for our local bars. #KitaJagaKita
