Sunway University has emerged as one of the top 500 universities in the world for Business and Management Studies in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020.
“This represents another milestone on our journey to become a world-leading institution. For the first time, we are ranked in the top 2% of universities in the world for this subject area, demonstrating that Sunway University is continuing to make good progress,” Sunway University Vice-Chancellor Professor Graeme Wilkinson said, adding that it demonstrates the excellent performance of Sunway University Business School in terms of academic and employer reputation as well as research contributions. “Business related research in other schools has also contributed to this ranking,” he continued.
Under QS World University Rankings – a yearly publication that lists the planet’s best universities based on overall and subject rankings – the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020 takes into account academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. It encompasses nearly 50 disciplines under five subject areas: Art and Humanities; Engineering and Technology; Life Sciences and Medicine; Natural Sciences; and Social Sciences and Management.
Sunway University Business School (SUBS), which was established in 2006, is a renowned business school which offers a number of programmes at various level of study. These include Accounting and Finance, Business Analytics, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Global Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Financial Analysis and Financial Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, and Human Resource Management.
It also offers a PhD in Business, validated by Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. Upon successful completion of their programme, graduates are awarded a scroll from Sunway University and one from Lancaster University.
A not-for-profit private university, Sunway University has been counted among the top 800 universities in the world according to QS World University Rankings 2020 and number 194 in the QS Asia Rankings 2020. It has also been given a 5-Star institutional rating in the QS Stars University Ratings’s latest assessment, demonstrating excellence in the individual categories of “Teaching,” “Employability,” “Facilities,” “Inclusiveness,” and “Social Responsibility.”
