28 June 2018: The international figure skating event back at Sunway Pyramid Ice
Skate Malaysia marked its 12th anniversary at Sunway Pyramid Ice which once again hosted the international figure skating event.
Supported by the Ice-Skating Association of Malaysia (ISAM) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the competition took place along with the 2nd ISI Asia Championship series from 28 June until 1 July.
Located within Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Pyramid Ice has been hosting international events like Skate Asia and World Ice Hockey 5’s tournament since 1999.
“Sunway Pyramid Ice today is extremely well-known as a central venue that provides adequate facilities for the ice-skating community and we aim to continue our legacy as a leading pioneer in this niche yet popular sport.
“For all the hard work and efforts, I would like to congratulate the organising committee for successfully kicking off another instalment of Skate Malaysia this year,” said Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Malls & Theme Parks HC Chan.
Skate Malaysia 2018 kick-started with a parade of flags from participating countries, which was followed by a special performance by the Sunway Pyramid Ice Skating Academy students.
Also present at the opening of the event were President of ISI Asia Harry Janto Leo, representative of ISI Asia Alex Yeung, International Chief Referee Jenise Jensen and President of ISAM Billy Johan.
