16 October: Sarawak Tourism Board unveils fresh new Visit Sarawak Campaign logo
‘Sarawak – More to Discover’ is the new tagline that was unveiled recently along with the Visit Sarawak Campaign logo, at the JW Marriot here in Kuala Lumpur.
Launched by the Sarawak Tourism Board, the new branding encapsulates the positioning of the state as a hub for culture, adventure, nature, food and festivals, while capturing the true spirit of Malaysia’s largest state.

The multi-coloured logo illustrates the fun and friendly approach the campaign underscores, and stands as a reflection of the unequalled hospitality found in Sarawak. The red and yellow in the logo represent the Sarawakian flag and the orange the strong spirit of its vibrant ethnic communities. The green stands for its lush rainforests and the blue for the long meandering coastlines.
Also seen in the second ‘a’ of the logo is a hornbill head, the iconic symbol of Sarawak which has been known as Bumi Kenyalang or ‘Land of Hornbills’ for many years.
The occasion was graced by Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth & Sports Sarawak, Datuk Hj Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah who also spoke passionately on upcoming plans that have been put in place in the lead up to Visit Sarawak 2020 – all of which will be revealed at the end of the year.

Also speaking at the event was Sarawak Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer Puan Sharzede Datu Salleh Askor who spoke, among other things, on the more personal proposition of the new campaign which seeks to establish a deeper connection with its visitors.
“Sarawak is a place where this is ‘More to Discover, and by that, we don’t just mean more cultures, more adventures, more nature, but also that you can discover more of yourself in Sarawak. It is where you will be able to spark your imagination, ignite your curiosity, and fuel your creativity – a truly life changing experience,” she said.
