If you have been looking for a chilled forest excursion without breaking the bank, you’re in luck as Resorts World Genting (RWG) is offering the Fun & Nature Package for a starting price of just RM125 per head, on a twin-sharing basis!
The package consists of a trip for two that includes a one-night stay at Resorts World Awana, a sumptuous meal, guided jungle-trekking and Awana Skyway return tickets. Interested? You have to be quick to snap this offer up as the package is available for a limited time only on 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29 August 2020.
Guests can first check in for a night’s stay at Resorts World Awana, a relaxing haven enclosed in an 18-hole golf course, a heated swimming pool and even children pool. They can then enjoy their package-included meal for two at the High Line Rooftop Market at SkyAvenue, where they can opt for a classic burger or Big Bangkok Burger with a soft drink in the cool-in-more-ways-than-one alfresco dining space. Guests can otherwise choose Motorino Pizzeria instead, which serves up Large 18-inch Margherita or Amatriciana authentic Neapolitan pizza. Complementing the dining experience are the Awana SkyWay return tickets for two, allowing guests to take in the stunning vistas of the mountainside from their cable car rides up and down.
The ticket also includes a stop at the Chin Swee Station, from which the Chin Swee Caves Temple is a stone’s throw away. This large and mesmerising temple complex is a must-see, especially for those who haven’t experienced the religious site that is surrounded by verdant jungle.
It’s this very jungle that guests can wander through in the ‘Nature’ portion of the Fun & Nature Package, albeit in a swathe of outdoors that is closer to the hotel. They will go on a guided jungle trek for two through the Conservation Trail, which has been labelled as perfect for nature lovers and those who are after some peace and serenity. It’s easy to immerse oneself in the 130-million-year-old tropical rainforest, thanks to this collaboration between Treks Nature Academia and Resorts World Genting.
Visitors can take a relaxed stroll along the 800-metre Conservation Trail located in the Upper Dipterocarp Forest elevation some 3000-feet above sea level at the Awana Bio Park. Along the way, an Encyclopedic Walk offers visitors opportunity to learn about the rich biodiversity of the Montane Timber Forest and its habitat.
Fortunate trekkers may even catch a glimpse of some wildlife along the way, including endangered species such as the serow wild mountain goat and the siamang or the black panther, red-headed krait snake and dusky leaf monkeys. Rare plant species such as the towering timber tree altingia excelsa, bountiful schizostachyum bamboo plants, massive strangler fig trees and a variety of rattan species can also be found from the forest canopy. 60 species of native birds that reside in the Upper Dipterocarp Forest elevation such as eagles, hornbills, woodpeckers may even be spotted by birdwatchers, with the section of the forest having been recognised by the Malaysian Nature Society and Birdlife International as the Awana Important Bird Area.
To comply with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) introduced by the government, visitors are required to wear face masks at all times. Upon entry and departure at the hotel entrance, visitors must check in to the venue by scanning the QR code using the MySejahtera app and have their temperatures checked. Visitors are also advised to use the hand sanitisers provided when necessary. Physical distancing measures must be observed by visitors throughout the duration of the activity by keeping one to two metres distance from each other at all times.
