Rasa Sayang celebrates Malaysia’s 60th birthday!
Giving shoppers and visitors to the mall a well-rounded experience, Rasa Sayang comes in three unique ‘flavours’ which are #makanankita, #sejarahkita and #tempatkita.
A Malaysian Food Paradise
Under #makanankita, shoppers can sample food sourced from every state in Malaysia, presented in pop-up stalls (known as warungs in Malay) which stay true to the traditional way of serving food. Sarawakian laksa, Kelantan’s nasi kerabu, halal dim sum, chocolate milk ice-cream, and a mouth-watering selection of kuih are just some of the delights that can be enjoyed.

“There is no better way to the heart of a Malaysian than through their stomach. With Rasa Sayang at Quill City Mall KL, we hope to draw more Malaysians together to share their food and stories with each other in the spirit of our Hari Kebangsaan Malaysia,” said Quill Group of Companies Executive Director Dato’ Ar. Michael Ong.
Interactive Story Exhibitions
Partnering with former journalist Niki Cheong and performing arts platform Kakiseni, Quill City Mall KL presents the #sejarahkita storytelling project which includes videos, photos and texts that collectively give a glimpse into Malaysia’s diverse cultural history.
The many faces of Malaysia
Showcased at the Main Court of the mall, the project marks the 60 years of Malaysia’s independence by displaying many of the stories Niki has amassed over the years, alongside new ones gathered this year.
Expressive Theatre Shows
Finally, under the #tempatkita experience, shoppers can catch one of the many pop-up theatre shows held at the North Concourse on the Ground Floor of the mall.

Curated by Kakiseni, these performances seek to bring art to the masses and are proof that art can take place anywhere. Highlights include a monologue session with Asia’s Next Top Model Alicia Amin and a spoken-word, immersive theatre experience called ‘Malaysia Throws Herself a Birthday Party.’
