Minsiter in the Prime Minsiter’s Department, YB Dato Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri said that rail operators must establish effective strategies like the KL TravelPass to boost passenger ridership and customer confidence.
“Collaboration between rail operators can produce unique and innovative products that will add value to their common markets. SPAD, as a regulating and coordinating body, will support such collaborative efforts to help the operators remain sustainable,” she said.
The KL TravelPass will make travelling from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to the city centre more convenient for tourists and local citizens.
“The KL TravelPass was developed to increase our customer base by targeting the untapped inbound travellers visiting Kuala Lumpur, similar to the Oyster Card in London and Octopus Card in Hong Kong,” said ERL Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Mohd Nadzmi.
The KL TravelPass is priced at RM70 for a single trip KLIA Ekspres airport transfer and RM115 for return trips. Travellers can purchase the tickets at Level 1 of KLIA Platform, Level 2 of gateway@KLIA2 and the Level 1, Departure Hall of KL Sentral.
Travellers can also add cash value to the KL TravelPass card and enjoy extended benefits of travelling on Rapid KL buses and KTM Komuter rail services.
