It was a special day for the children of Titian Kaseh Shelter Home of Titiwangsa, when they were invited to enjoy a special Raya lunch at IT megamall Plaza Low Yat Plaza, as part of the mall’s annual CSR program.
Over 70 children enjoyed a finger lickin’ fried chicken lunch at KFC as well as a magic show courtesy of Frankie the Magician Balloon Clown, who performed tricks and made balloon animals for every child. As an added surprise, the children were treated to a special appearance by Iron Man, who greeted each child with a hug.

On top of this, goodie-bags were presented to the children, complete with new sets of stationery, duit raya and even a mini-block set. The shelter home also received donation items of daily household and food items; including rice, cooking oil, washing detergents, instant noodles as a show of goodwill, handed out by Plaza Low Yat General Manager Albert Khoo.

“As part of our annual CSR program, we wanted to give the children of Rumah Titian Kasih a ‘day off’ to have fun and enjoy the afternoon,” said Khoo, while he guided some of the children on how to construct a building with the mini-block set.
“Every child deserves as much opportunity to be their own selves, to be free from worries, and just be as they are – children,” he added.
Most of the children from the Rumah Titian Kasih shelter come from abusive and battered families. The founder of the shelter home, fondly known as Mak Pah, has been the matriarch of the shelter since 1998. The shelter’s main mission is to help those in need, by providing them with basic skills training, such as cleaning, baking and so on. The children are provided with free education, food and a place to call home.
