Ramadhan has seen unprecedented changes in Malaysia this year with COVID-19 posing a danger to public health. In the interest of public safety, the traditional Ramadhan bazaar is not a sight seen this year
For every year until last, vibrant Ramadhan bazaars and buka puasa or iftar (breaking of the day-long fast) feasts all over the capital come to life every sundown throughout the fasting month, stocked with delicious snacks, wholesome meals, tasty beverages and other treats. Now, when even venturing out has become an exercise wrapped in caution and large groups of people in close proximity is a no-no, bazaars and feasts are not advisable, and indeed, not allowed under the CMCO.
However, there are workarounds for those who want to enjoy Ramadhan goodies – online bazaars, or e-bazaars, as well as other tempting pre-Raya offers! Scroll down to see some of the suggested virtual channels for bazaars and Ramadhan specials that you can peruse and choose from, attainable via delivery and takeaway. Stay safe always!
