The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre recently put on its first live show since mid-March when the arrival of Covid-19 brought everything to a grinding halt. The third edition of the popular Yesterday Once More concert series, which features golden hits from the 40s to the 60s, marked the occasion and filled out Pentas 2 once again.
Sister branch the Penang Performing Arts Centre also swung into action at the start of this month with the zany The Ice Kacang Project. The whirlwind 60-minute show saw two actors take on 12 difference characters across six comedies much the amusement of audiences. Following that, comedian Garu Ramon and musician Raggy Singh brought down the house with a gut busting fundraiser!
The two venues are slowly picking up the pace as they present a range of performances over the next few months – and they need all the public support they can get. With that said, check out what’s on and block your calendars!
Cabaret Series: Young KL Singers’ Live on Stage!

Those three will be joined by one wild card entry, and each will be singing music from major blockbusters, musicals, Disney favourites and other chart-toppers.

Life Sdn Bhd – Voices of the Young
The long-running Life series was started by Joe and Faridah Merican way back and initially revolved around the subject of what it means to be Malaysian. Comprised of true stories from real people, the series evolved over the years to encompass a range of issues including abuse, human trafficking, refugees and even ghosts.
The focus shifts this year as the spotlight shines on the younger generation – something which the centre takes great pride in and has been fostering since the early 90s. Come and watch the young talent tell stories close to their hearts in what will be a Life to remember.

Sounds Familiar
You’ve probably heard them before, but can’t quite name the tunes when you do hear them. A common issue and one that describes this concert and its familiar programme to a tee.
Martin Rutherford steps up to conduct The Actors Studio Chorus & Orchestra as they bring British classics to life, including Zadok the Priest, The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, the Old Hundredth hymn, Greensleeves, Nimrod and the famous march from the Dam Busters film.
Rounding out the concert is a trio of tunes from The Last Night of the Proms – Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia.
