Prepare to have a mind-bending experience at KL’s newest psychedelic attraction, the Museum Of Illusions. With over 70 exhibits designed to test your senses in every way imaginable, this is the largest single collection of optical illusions in all of Asia and indeed, it’s arrival in Kuala Lumpur signals the first time this rapidly growing museum chain has a base in Asia.
Whether young or young-at-heart, everyone who enters the Museum Of Illusions is in for an interactive experience that will teach you about how we perceive things and how our brains can be tricked via a few simple yet highly effective methods. It’s the perfect place to while away an afternoon in a fun and educational manner with friends and family – and it’s sure to leave a lasting mark on your memory!
Among the unique exhibits that greet visitors are mind-altering rooms, optical illusions, and a playroom with didactic games and puzzles. Vision, perception, science and psychology work hand-in-hand to turn each exhibit into a bewildering experience.
The Ames Room will have you doubting your very eyes as a person morphs form dwarf to giant by pacing from one side of a room to the other; what looks like an ordinary room is anything but. Meanwhile, your sense of balance is thrown into complete disarray as you step into The Vortex Tunnel, a rotating cylinder with a stationary platform running through it. This one-of-a-kind in Asia exhibit will make you feel like reality is twisting around you!
Grab incredible pictures in the Rotated Room where you can flip things around, and play with roles and ratios on The Chair Illusion where the size of a person is all relative to what objects are next to them. Plenty more optical illusions await, ready to confuse your eyes and brain in a plethora of ways.
Make sure to swing by the gift shop on your way out, a place filled with illusory delights including Dilemma Games and mini optical illusions, 3D lighting and other knickknacks.
