The first to appear on stage with dazzling family-oriented concerts is Magic In Music, which will transpire on 7 and 8 January. Led by French conductor Guillaume Tourniaire, the MPO is set to bring to life excerpts of Dvorak’s Rusalka, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Dukas’ Sorcerer’s Apprentice and music from the Harry Potter films. Presented by the charismatic Yasmin Yusoff, this musical celebration of magic promises to leave all spellbound.

The charmed theme continues the following week with a semi-staged opera paying homage to Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Set in ancient Egypt, it boasts a talented cast which features, among others, Dimitry Ivashchenko, Ang Mei Foong, Chi Mei Ho, Seow Chee Chuan and the Kuala Lumpur City Opera Chorus.
Helmed by Tourniaire, the opera entwines a playful spirit with a serious philosophy of life; a mesmerising blend kindled greatly by the maestros of the MPO.

Experience the symphonic works of Debussy, Poulenc and SaintSaens through the majestic Klais organ, played masterfully by Giannini, and discover why it has been dubbed the ‘King of Instruments’.
