The warm ambience of Prego was a precursor to the wonderful overall MIGF publicity dinner experience. MIGF 2012’s publicity dinner series kicked off at the modern and cosy Prego, with 26 distinguished guests, including Tourism Minister Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen, enjoying an evening of authentic Italian cuisine. Tunku Kecil Besar Tunku Datuk Mudzaffar Tunku Mustapha, Tunku Dara Tunku Tan Sri Naquiah Tuanku Ja’afar, Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen, Donnie Ray Radford and Christine Chin. After welcoming remarks by MIGF Organising Chairman Dato’ Steve Day and The Westin KL GM Hratch Khatchanian, it was on to a menu created under the theme “Classical Chefs – A Symphony of Great Cuisines”, with a variety of appetisers, mains of salt-crusted sea bass or wine-braised veal cheek and a fondant for dessert. The food was also accompanied by wines, including three types of Brunello de Montalcino from three different wineries in Italy. The wines were poured into a uniquely shaped Riedel decanter (like a cobra rising from its coil) and then into Riedel wine glasses – reputedly the best crystal in the world for dining. It was clear that the Minister of Tourism truly enjoyed her first MIGF publicity dining experience. “This is a fantastic concept, and it really enhances the overall MIGF experience. MIGF just gets better and better every year. I like the whole Symphony concept, as I love music, so the idea of mixing fine f ood with music is just wonderful. I know that Taste MIGF was very successful, so I am more convinced now in wanting to expand this product, it is a great product,” Dato’ Sri Dr Ng said.
