Life as we know it has changed drastically since the pandemic hit and one of the aspects we miss the most is catching our favourite bands and musicians perform live on stage. Unfortunately, while the current Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is in place and possibly for the foreseeable future, any concerts, performances or large gatherings are a no go.
Thankfully, Venuescape has come up with an innovative way for us to enjoy incredible performances by local and international artists from the comfort of our own homes – with a cause! Enter the ‘Stay In Stay Strong Blockdown Party’, a fundraising musical event in support of our frontliners who have been risking their lives to keep us all safe.
Last April, the venue specialist debuted their Stay In Stay Strong Blockdown Festival with great success and will be streaming live again this 30 May from 7pm onwards. The group has cranked up the volume with performances by some of the best local talents as well as acts from neighbouring countries like Singapore, Thailand and India.
Some of the musicians in the line-up include Talitha Tan, Saint Kylo, Kyoto Protocol, Lost Spaces, Alien Lipstick Fire and Crinkle Cut, an all-girl group who has appeared at events by TimeOutKL, Jameson Live and the recent Guinness Flavour by Fire. This time, hosting duties are covered by stand-up comedian Andrew Netto, who will be making the crowds crack up as emcees for the proceedings!
Aside from creating an avenue for Malaysians to bring the party home, this awesome online music festival is in support of the Social Textile Movement, with100% of the proceeds going towards its cause which aims to help produce more PPE suits as well as other efforts in protecting our frontliners.
What a time to be alive! While we are unfortunately unable to gather and boogie it down in person with the gang, it will certainly be nice to let our hair down and be part of this exciting event on the web. See you there!
