17 May 2019: Grins could be seen radiating from beaming faces as a special Ramadhan treat brought festive cheer
Ramadhan marks a significant month filled with patience, discipline and faith. Melawati Mall decided to take it up a notch by turning it into a month of endless sharing for the less fortunate.
Twenty three children from the Rumah Raudhatul Al-Faeez were treated to a movie and a Buka Puasa session by the mall.
Both of the sessions took place inside the mall recently where the children were ushered to Golden Screen Cinemas to watch the newly released Pokémon Detective Pikachu, accompanied by celebrity Imran Ajmain.
The children were then escorted by four guardians and members of the Melawati Mall management team to meet and greet the adorable and festive mascot which was a smiley and friendly ketupat.
Intricately decorated lollipops were distributed to the children as they took pictures and played a game of ‘follow the mascot’.
Just as it was time to break fast, the children were lead to Wolf & Turtle – a cafe nestled in a comfy corner of the mall – to savour an array of mouthwatering Ramadhan dishes.
“We believe that Hari Raya is a time for sharing, especially with the less fortunate. Hence, it is our honour to invite a group of underprivileged children to join our Hari Raya celebration. This is one way for Melawati Mall to touch the lives of the less fortunate in a meaningful way,” said Melawati Mall centre manager, Kow Shih-Li.
The evening closed with the children receiving Raya packets with smiles and laughter bringing the evening to a cheery close.
