City centre restaurant Marini’s on 57 has launched its newest album with a raft of laidback hits for the perfectly chilled evening. Sunset Hours Vol. 3 marks the venue’s third musical release as the only standalone brand in Asia to release dedicated albums.
Simon Mills, who worked as producer on the album, said that he used the feeling one gets when watching the sun go down 57 floors above the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur as his inspiration for many of the songs.
“If I’m basing a track on a place, then I usually combine music references and a condition I have called synesthesia [the ability to see colours and shapes in music],” said Mills.
“For ‘Interstellar Joyride’ I thought about the incredible views from Marini’s on 57, the first thing that hit me was the city lights twinkling away against the blackness, and the dramatic view of the Petronas Towers. I wanted it to sound tropical and sunny, with the listener imagining themselves with a nice cold drink in their hand as they watched the sun go down over Kuala Lumpur City.”

Located directly next to the world famous twin peaks of the Petronas Towers, Marini’s on 57 is a mainstay in the local gastronomy scene offering food as breathtaking as the views. A multi-award winner at the 2015 Malaysia International Gourmet Festival, the signature ambience of Marini’s is unparalleled anywhere in the city.
Having long earned a reputation as the ideal spot for watching the sun go down with a signature cocktail after work, Marini’s on 57’s the third album captures these sensations perfectly.
“Listening to the albums should transport you into the realm of pure chill and melodic intoxication whether it’s over a glass of champagne with friends or just lounging on a breezy afternoon. Those who have experienced the palpable energy of night times at Marini’s on 57 will already appreciate the role that music plays in the creation of the perfect atmosphere. My hope is that these albums will allow others to come on this musical journey with us,” said Modesto Marini, Founder of The Marini’s Group.
Sunset Hours Vol.3 officially hits the market on 20 July 2016 during its global launch in Ibiza, and will be available for purchase or download at Marini’s on 57, iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon. An exclusive continuous mix by Simon Mills of the entire album will also be available as a digital download.
