21 August 2017:
The SEA Games is the region’s biggest multi-sport event
In conjunction with the 29th SEA Games and the 9th ASEAN Para Games, Malaysia Airports as the Official Welcoming Partner will be supporting the nation by playing its role in welcoming more than 10,000 athletes, officials and supporters of KL2017 from all 11 participating countries.
To facilitate a smooth and quick arrival, Malaysia Airports has worked closely with the KL2017 Malaysia Organising Committee (MASOC), Department of Immigration KLIA to make visitors’ arrival a joyful one.
KL2017 Accreditation booths are placed at both terminals to provide the contingents with useful and relevant information. Aside from this, several immigration counters are also especially dedicated to process the visitors upon arrival. As a further gesture of goodwill, Malaysia Airports provides the contingents with bottled water upon their arrival at the Accreditation Booths.
An additional highlight are the 200 specially selected Welcoming Ambassadors providing on-ground operational and directional assistance.
“Our involvement in KL2017 marks an important milestone in the celebration of our 25th anniversary,” said Malaysia Airports Managing Director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali.
“It is very exciting to be a part of Malaysian history. That is why we are also rallying other Malaysians to join in the festivities with our KL2017-themed ambience installation and game activation booths. This is part of our initiative to fulfil our mission in creating joyful experiences for our airport users.”
Malaysia Airports will also be sponsoring four Malaysian athletes who will act as brand ambassadors. They are Farah Ann Hadi, Mohamad Ridzuan Puzi, Irfan Shamsuddin and Sara Yap, who are all notable for being great role models for the Malaysian youth.
