KIRTARSH Home has received RM77,484.60 during a cheque presentation ceremony from the 8th annual Latin American Festival.
The event saw Ambassadors from the nine Latin American countries which participate in the annual extravaganza – those from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Columbia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela – gather once again to help present the cheque.
Mr Steven Chong, Area Director of Low Yat City, and Mr Albert Khoo, General Manager of Plaza Low Yat and bbpark, were also present during the ceremony, with the latter delivering a heartfelt speech of gratitude to all who facilitated the success of the event.
“I would like to congratulate each and every one for your help in successfully executing the 8th Latin American Festival,” said Mr Khoo.
“With all the proceeds from the Latin American Festival donated to the KIRTARSH Home, it is an honourable and commendable achievement for all of us [to be able to donate so much].”

The festival, which took place on 22 May, was the collaborative effort of the nine Latin American Embassies and the Latin Ladies Association to introduce Latin American tradition, culture and tastes to the Malaysian community. Many thrilling activities took place during the day, which was assisted by DBKL, Plaza Low Yat, Federal Hotels International and Capitol Hotel.
All proceeds from the wildly-successful festival were donated to KIRTARSH Home, an established non-profit shelter that caters to underprivileged children and those with special needs. The home, with over 47 residents under its roof, strives to provide for people with disabilities such as autism and Down’s Syndrome.
