27 September 2017:
Expect to see plenty of gorgeous Malaysian landscapes at this newly opened Damansara gallery
KEN Gallery is pleased to welcome Canadian Artist, James Henry Stewart, who will be launching his first solo art showcase called the East to West exhibition.
Having always loved nature from a young age, the exhibition will display Stewart’s artworks of his most favourite places and things, whether in the tropics or snow covered mountains.
During his school years, he started to learn drawing but later abandoned art to pursue a career as an IT Marketing Executive.
However when Stewart arrived in KL in 1989, he was inspired to start painting again, citing Malaysia’s various shades of green as the perfect stimulation for his artistic mind.
Besides nature, Stewart also sees the beauty in old abandoned farm buildings. He sees a story in every site, which for him, is a stimulus to paint and record the history.
“Old farms are a thing of the past, as technology obsoletes them, there lies a story to tell depicting a different age and time,” says Stewart.
Stewart’s work can be found in private collections in New York, Toronto, Kuala Lumpur, Calgary and Phuket. He has also been an art collector for many years with a collection that includes works from Malaysia, Canada, Thailand, Indonesia, Italy, Myanmar and France.
The East to West exhibition will be held from September 29-October 13 from 12pm-8pm. Drop by if you would like to see unique interpretations of some of the world’s most stunning vistas.
