Malaysia’s biggest event on all things Japan is migrating to the web this year for a virtual edition that comes packed with all the elements that have made it so popular in the past. Billed as the first all Japan virtual event in Asia, this year’s Japan Expo Malaysia (JEMY) will reach out to a global audience of millions with an exciting mix of culture, martial arts, cosplay, food, travel and education.
Fostering relations between Malaysia and Japan, this trade fair has drawn thousands of visitors in the past; last year saw Pavilion KL turn into a hive of activity with a stream of artistes converging for a massive concert. Aside from the upfront j-pop, shoppers were treated to some of the latest technological innovations and other unique products from the Land of the Rising Sun.
Falling in line with the new norm that dictates current protocol, JEMY is set to go online this July where it will not only give viewers a chance to get to know the hottest products from Japan, but also provide an opportunity for businesses to kick start operations and create new networks following the recent lockdowns.
Everything form art and fashion to travel and anime will be featured at the fair when it is broadcast live on JEMY’s Facebook and Youtube pages. Participating exhibitors will be given 15-minute slots where they can hold talks on their products and provide demonstrations if they wish. If you’d like to reach out to them for any reason, you’ll be able to communicate directly with them via links to their official websites or other platforms.
Other highlights will include cosplay and fashion parades, manga, origami and kyudo demos among others. The cherry on the cake will be a star-studded concert beamed live to viewers, featuring some of the hottest j-pop stars of the moment.
“With the unique message ‘Together We Are One’, we want to help people take their minds off the massive challenges faced now,” said Yupharet Eakturapakal, the CEO of G-Yu Creative, organisers of JEMY.
Don’t miss what will be one of this year’s most exciting virtual events and the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in Japanese culture.
