The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre is going full digital soon as it presents its first show crafted from scratch for the virtual world. The KL institution is embracing the new norm with pizazz and delivering a hefty (and much needed!) dose of comedy with the highly anticipated debut of indicinelive! Quaranstream Edition.
The sketch comedy series that has been making people roll in the aisles for a decade is back to do what it does best: rip into reality a little and make light of current circumstances. Only this time, the klpac and The Actors Studio event will be live-streamed on the klpac Facebook page. Admission is free, however, viewers are urged you to participate in the interactive fundraising element on the page to support the arts in these harsh times.
As always, you can expect a series of rapid-fire sketches from a cast that includes veterans like Anrie Too, Dinesh Kumar, Jad Hidhir and Tiara Anchant, as well as newcomers Jon Chew, Nabilah Hamid, and Oxford Tong. Directing the whole shebang is the award-winning Freddy Tan, who together with the ensemble will have you cracking up with everything from character satires to song parodies and much more.

Topical as always, the crew draws on influences ranging from the current global pandemic to the state of Malaysian politics for their subject matter. While comedy binds all of the sketches together, look out for important underlying messages contained within the socio-political commentary. Add in heaps of high-energy performances and some surprise guest performers, and you’ve got yourself an evening of levity.
Lend A Hand
Now more than ever the arts need your help to survive, so while you’re being entertained by the superb ensemble, make sure to show your appreciation by making a much-needed donation. A pair of teams will be going head-to-head in the ‘Fund Race’ and if they hit the RM5k mark, a bonus performance will be unlocked; if they hit the RM15k, you’ll get an ultra bonus performance!
Klpac’s fundraising efforts have also recently added the Send-A-Song initiative, an e-greeting service that packages your message with a song sung by a local artiste into a video and delivers it to your loved one’s phone for RM50.
