Prepare yourself for a night of beautiful Spanish culture as Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC) hosts Humano, an exhibition of flamenco dancing and lucid story telling.
The story revolves around the exploration of Humano who tells the tales of his life in the form of poetry, flamenco dance and music. By fusing the two forms together, the character draws a paradigm in his life and how interconnected he is with flamenco.
Renowned dancer Cristina Carrasco and actor Gonzalo Morquecho will take to the stage for the sultry performance; the pair’s charisma and chemistry making this a can’t-miss show.
Regarded as a dance of passion and a quintessential part of Spanish culture, the flamenco combines graceful dance moves with finger snapping and clapping. A dance is only as beautiful as the music to which it is set, however, and Humano will showcase the skills of guitarist Alberto Marin, pianist Mireia Frutos, vocalist Ángela López, percussionist Stan Calvin, guitarist Razman S. Hadi and saxophonist Patrick Terbrack. With a musical tribute to world famous guitarist Paco de Lucía, the audience will be guided through some of the most famous sounds of the flamenco like Bulería, Tangos, Guajira, Taranta, Malagueña, Jaleos and Rumba.
Flamenco performances are rarely seen on Malaysian shores, so for both seasoned fans and newcomers to the genre, Humano promises to be a world-class show.
