20 June 2019: The beer brand’s new initiative allows consumers to enjoy the same taste without the buzz
Heineken Malaysia Berhad recently launched the alcohol-free Heineken 0.0 – a malt beverage that exhibits the familiar taste without having to feel the effects of inebriation.
Imported directly from the Netherlands, the drink is made with natural ingredients and has a blue label instead of the iconic green to signify the different drink category.
The beverage was introduced with the aim to provide consumers with a lager option while going through daily activities like working, driving or exercising.
“Heineken 0.0 is brewed from scratch and has a perfectly balanced taste with refreshing fruity notes and a soft malty body,” said Heineken’s Global Craft and Brew Master, Willem van Waesberghe.
Launched in 2017, the new variant has moved over 800,000 hectolitres in the past year and can be found in countries such as the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, United Kingdom and France.
Debuting in the Malaysian market this July, the 250ml bottle contains only 53 calories and is said to be sold at an estimated RM8.40 at stores and RM14 at bars.
Heineken 0.0 will be available nationwide next month in bars, restaurants, stores and on Heineken’s e-commerce site, Drinkies.
