30 July 2017:Interactive booths, health screenings and fun activities highlight importance of good healthPantai Hospital Ampang recently organised the Health is Wealth Carnival with the aim of celebrate health, fitness and wellness by improving awareness.
There were five primary booths at the carnival, one for each core specialty, namely Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Minimally Invasive Surgery. Each booth held enjoyable and engaging specialty related activities.
Appropriately named ‘Dr Little’, the Paediatrics booth had kids learning about human anatomy by playing doctor. Meanwhile, a human skeleton was used to demonstrate proper postures at the Orthopaedics booth.
Participants also had the opportunity to join an interactive passport tour of the hospital where they stopped by specialty booths, flexi-clinics, health-screening booths, the newly renovated emergency department, dialysis centre and more. On top of that, they were able to redeem gifts on the tour.

“We hope to drive home the the importance of regular health screenings and healthy practices to create a nation of healthy and happy families,” said Hoo Ling Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Hospital Ampang. The public were encouraged to utilise the free on-site blood pressure, glucose and BMI checks run by skilled nurses and specialists. There were also specialists offering free advice and health checks.Several special guests enlivened the event, including actor Fahrin Ahmad and fitness trainer Nana Al Haleq, who pedaled stationary bicycles on stage with Hoo Ling Lee to kick off the launch of ‘Cycle for Sight’. Pantai Hospital Ampang promised to perform one complimentary cataract surgery on its premises for every 10km cycled in aid of underprivileged elderly folks in the community. This initiative is part of Pantai Hospital Ampang corporate social responsibility programme which is fully sponsored by Khazanah IHH Healthcare Fund.
