The L’aperitif Fashion soirees by Kronenbourg 1664 have become the talk of the town since their inception last year, bursting with panache and always lined with a creative edge. The most recent bash was certainly no different, as the swanky Rootz club on Lot 10’s rooftop welcomed KL’s elite for the third instalment of the series. The beer flowed freely and the models strutted their stuff in creations by designers Endy and Herane Zera.
The affair was graced by Tourism Ambassador Dato’ Jimmy Choo, and fashion idols Andrea Fonseka, Amber Chia and Keith Kee, who acted as judges and dished out the comments to the two competing young fashion designers. Models looped around the club in contemporary, chic, extravagant and sometimes outrageous outfits, punctuated by fantastic accessories. The audience knocked back the brews and looked on in wonder at high fashion with a twist.
As always, the ever-charming Soren Ravn, MD of Carlsberg Malaysia, was present to welcome the masses and celebrate the “Art of Pleasure” in style. Together with Josiah Mizukami, model-MC for the night and ambassador for L’Aperitif Fashion, they kept the party going with witty back-and-forth that had the crowd cheering away.
Kronenbourg 1664 has been dubbed the champagne of beers, for it smooth, refreshing and crisp flavour, and the L’aperitif Fashion parties go hand in hand with the brand’s gilt-edged image. Last March saw a ritzy bash thrown in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, a day before Sepang Circuit played host to six former champions battling it out in round two of the 2012 season and before that, the breathtaking views from the View Bar at G-Tower served as the backdrop to the French happy hour party.
The evening saw Kronenbourg Eiffel beer towers making the rounds, a three foot replica with a tap on each side, allowing four people to fill up their glasses at a time. All throughout the crowd, tower tops could be seen, as well as the frosty blue bottles of Kronenbourg Blanc that stood out like beacons.
The quality party went down a treat and everyone got a taste of “The French Art of Pleasure”, a different take on the conventional happy hour, bringing together drink culture and fashion. It’s always a pleasure attending a L’aperitif Fashion party. KL is looking forward to the next one already!
