Amusing expressions such as “Aiseyman”, “Walao Eh”, “Gostan” and Bojio” are familiar ones to many a Malaysian, part of the rich local vernacular born of the melting pot of cultures that call this country home.
These slangs are what the people behind the Instagram account @MySlangBank and shopping mall The Linc KL are celebrating with the inaugural #MySlangMYPride Malaysian Slang Exhibition in conjunction with Merdeka and Malaysia Day!
The exhibition features 100 slang words curated by @MySlangBank’s designers, art directors and writers, who drew inspiration from childhood memories, local folklore, and Malaysian elements. It’s a excellent way to get yourself acquainted with these uniquely Malaysian words, as all of them can be experienced for free at Event Space, Level 2, The LINC KL (origami rainbow dove area) from 10am to 10pm from 15 August to 20 September. Plenty of events and activities have been lined-up during this period to entice visitors and shoppers!
