It’s rare that an art exhibition extends across multiple galleries, with that usually being left to larger-scale events like festivals or biennales. This October however five of KL’s most prominent galleries will collaborate on a weekend-long showcase of contemporary art dubbed Right Here! Right Now!
Going Bananas by CCKua
Prepare to go gallery hopping from 9-11 October, stopping by as many of the participating galleries as you can to absorb the entirety of this unique exhibition. Each gallery will be showing five new works, done by a total of five artists, each representing one gallery. You’ll have to plan your route accordingly if you want to hit all five galleries as they are scattered across the metropolis.
Featured in the shows are the following artists and galleries: CC Kua from The Back Room KL, Syahbandi Samat from Artemis Art, Joshua Kane Gomes from Richard Koh Fine Art, Jane Stephanny from Suma Orientalis and Haafiz Shahimi from Core Design Gallery. There’s a wide range of styles and medium on display here, from painting to mixed-media sculpture, and each artist brings his own distinct signature to the proceedings.

There’s an element of fun in this exhibition that comes from using the city itself as a part of the exhibition, encouraging visitors to travel between points to view the artwork.
