If you or anyone you know is about to uproot or relocate, and you’ve got unneeded furniture or household items to drop, hit up the Badass Monkies and they’ll swing by! The charitable organisation has added another feather to its CSR cap with the Badass Monkies Furniture Campaign
Not only will the Monkies ease the burden of having to find ways to get rid of the items you don’t need anymore, they’ll make sure it goes to those who need it most. In this case, the initiative will be supporting the People in Prison Project, which aims to help the underprivileged in detention centres and jails, and other less fortunate individuals in society.
Badass Monkies has linked up with a number of logistics experts to help with the operation, including AGS, Asian Tigers, Allied Pickford and Intermovers. These companies will help in transporting items and ensuring the process is smooth from end to end.
More or less anything that’s in good working order is suitable for donation, with items including electronics, clothes, shoes, stationary, baby items and all manner of furniture good to go. So rather than disposing of them, why not give what you have to the needy and possibly help to make their life a better one.
Spearheaded by Natasha Reuben, who founded the Badass Monkies in 2011 after witnessing first hand the widespread poverty in Southeast Asia while traveling through it, the campaign is one of many that has made the Monkies a force in the philanthropic scene in Malaysia. By partnering with numerous other charities, their reach to date has been substantial.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Reuben also launched a series of successful webinars recently, with top speakers discussing a range of issues like face masks, black lives matter, and employment/recruitment during the Covid-19 pandemic.
If you want to further support the cause, head on over to Badass Monkies website where you’ll also find some fresh threads on the merchandise section, from t-shirts and hats to hoodies, tracksuits and even baby bibs – all donning the unmistakable logo and various philanthropic messages.
