Over 140 less-fortunate children and their caretakers from Rumah Hope, Lighthouse Children Welfare Home, Persatuan Kebajikan Agathians Malaysia, Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Chrestus, Stepping Stones Living Centre and Pusat Jagaan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Budimas Orion were treated to a fun-filled Christmas celebration, hosted by the The Budimas Charitable Foundation!
The annual event was set in motion with the lighting ceremony of the 8-foot Christmas tree by the Trustees of the foundation, followed by a scrumptious buffet dinner which comprised an array of Christmas classics. There was a carolling session and a special visit from Santa Claus too!
The carollers from Zotung Refugee Catholic Learning Centre then performed Christmas jingles while the children took part in the “Christmas Ornament Decoration Competition”. It was laughter and smiles all around!
The event concluded with the Trustees of Budimas gifting each child with a goody bag filled with healthy snacks and school supplies. The kids were treated to money packets too.
“The kids really had a great time and they love their gifts. We will continue to host such events, (in the) years to come because it does make them happy.” Said Anne Rajasaikaran, Principle Officer of the Budimas Charitable Foundation.
The Budimas Charitable Foundation currently supports 60 charitable homes across Malaysia under the Budimas Home Charity Fund (BHCF). They are also heavily involved in building and operating libraries for the children of the Orang Asli communities via the Budimas Education Charity Fund (BECF) as well as providing breakfast to the less fortunate children in 150 schools across Malaysia. To date, they have reached out to almost 10,000 underprivileged children!
