An event that celebrate humans with disabilities
In conjunction with the United Nations Global Day of Action, Art Includes 2019 will run from 23-29 September 2019 at Ruang @ Think City and the Market Squares.
The festival will acknowledge talents of people with disabilities and feature various activities like conferences, workshops, exhibitions, forums, concerts and more.
Participants will get the opportunity to meet special guests like Blind Masterchef USA Winner Chef Christine Ha, Blind Professional Nepal Dancer Sristi, Hearing Impaired Singaporean Pianist Dr Azariah Tan and Autistic Oil Painter Jamila – to hear their ‘Stories of Resilience’ during the conference.
As for workshops, expect to experience the well-known Dialogue in the Dark by Stevens Chan (who is blind from glaucoma) as well as Dialogue in Silence, Dialogue Games, Dance and Music Includes, and Invoking Paradigm Shifts in Patterns of Thoughts in communication and leadership.
Walk through inspirational exhibitions from Chng Seok Tin, Jamaliah, Wan Jamila and other local and regional disabled artists that prove disability has no right in stopping them from doing the impossible.
Catch the highlighted Concert in the Dark, a collaboration with Causeway Exchange Singapore featuring Hossan Leong, Flame of the Forest, and Joie from Singapore alongside ARVAN, Rozella, and WVC-Malaysian Jazz Ensemble from Malaysia.
Another anticipated highlight is the Fine Dining in the Dark with Chef Christine Ha, who many know from the Masterchef USA series. The season three winner will be curating a special gastronomic menu that will enlighten your taste buds as you indulge in complete darkness.
Ruang @ Think City will also be transformed into an accessible building for the disabled through its old and new shop lots – making the festival one to anticipate this month!
