Aquaria KLCC is making waves at the moment, entering Malaysia’s Book of Records for the sixth time with the country’s first Underwater Magic Show, wittily called Aquacadabra. The unique spectacle makes its debut on Christmas Day this year, with encore performances on 29 and 30 December.
The marine centre’s famed Aquatheatre – which, as the name insinuates, is a glass-walled underwater theatre that regularly houses shows among the bustling aquatic wildlife – is where the magic special will be held at 3.30pm on each of the three days.
Carried out by acclaimed local magician troupe The MADgicians, five engaging acts are slated to be staged over a course of 15 minutes. Visitors even have the opportunity to participate and interact with the magicians! Reaching out to more people with their fascinating skills, The MADgicians will also be doing magic walkabouts around Aquaria KLCC at 1pm over the three days.
Aquacadabra joins Aquaria KLCC’s five other Malaysia’s Book of Records accolades; namely 1st Live Underwater TV Broadcast with TV3 and 1st Live Underwater Radio Broadcast with FlyFM in 2006, 1st Underwater Board Meeting in 2011, Biggest Stingray in captivity in 2014 and Largest Jalur Gemilang in an Underwater Aquarium in 2017.
Meanwhile, in keeping with the season, the centre is decked out with Yule decorations that befit the Aquaria KLCC Enchanted Christmas theme. Their popular Underwater Santa is set to make appearances too during Feeding Frenzy shows, ensuring that the swimming residents get a Christmas feast. Starting on 21 December, these memorable Santa sessions transpire during the two weekends sandwiching Christmas Day, and on Christmas Day itself, at 12pm and 3pm.
