Established by Malaysia Airports, Anjung Malaysia showcases the nation’s traditions and cultures, while entertaining tourists and visitors with a specially curated atmosphere that provides a window to local cuisines, products and architecture.“The transport sector can play a role in contributing to our national tourism target. Apart from the quality of our physical infrastructure, we must strive to provide a differentiating factor and unique experience to travellers. Nowhere is this more important that at the airport where it serves as the first impression of Malaysia to many travellers,” said Minister of Transport, YB Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai. Anjung Malaysia, with its ‘Nostalgia’ theme, is not only for international tourists but also the locals as it aims to evoke nationalistic pride and provide local SMEs and entrepreneurs a venue to showcase their products. “It (Anjung Malaysia) is our way of introducing Malaysia to the world by bringing local tradition and cultures into our airport, and creating a sense of homecoming to Malaysians,” said Managing Director of Malaysia Airports Datuk Badlisham Ghazali. Malaysia Airports also unveiled their limited edition Proudly Malaysian chocolate collection in collaboration with Royal Selangor and Fidani. The keepsake box is designed with Malaysian-themed motifs and named as Peony, Malaysiana, Gembira and Batik. The Proudly Malaysian chocolate collection is now available at KLIA and customers who purchase a box of the exclusive chocolates will get an extra chance at winning the Malaysia Airports 25th Anniversary shopping contest.
