Prepare to belt out the greatest hits from the world’s most famous band as Let It Be Live brings the music of The Beatles to the Malaysian stage. Having been seen by two million people worldwide and featuring more than 40 of the band’s hits, the show touches down in Kuala Lumpur and is an absolute can’t-miss for fans young and old.
Songs included on the bill include Back in the USSR, Hey Jude, Twist and Shout, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, I Wanna Hold Your Hand and Strawberry Fields Forever among countless others. The eponymous Let It Be, one of the most highly-respected and frequently covered of all The Beatles’ songs, is of course among the tracks performed as well.
The musical takes a look at what might have been had The Beatles reunited for one night only on John Lennon’s 40th birthday – October 9, 1980. After a decade apart, the band get back together to blast out a variety of their greatest hits as they prepare to sail away on solo careers that would see mixed results.
Following the success of Queen musical We Will Rock You and Abba show Mamma Mia, it was only a matter of time before a Beatles-themed show took to the stage as well. The ‘lads from Liverpool’ defined a generation like few others throughout history as their music touched the hearts and minds the world over during the 1960s. Even now, nearly 50 years on from their split, the legacy of Beatlemania lives on.
Since its opening in London’s West End, Let It Be Live has become one of the most popular shows on the circuit and recently celebrated its 1,000th staging. It took over North America during 2015 and now extends its reach further with an Asian tour sure to bring the world to its feet, so don’t miss out.
