An international mix of guests gathered at serene and tastefully appointed China Treasures restaurant, there to savour the culinary delights of Chef David Pam, a three-year veteran of the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival.
Guests included HE Andrea Wicke, Ambassador of Austria, and her husband Mr Venzislav Wicke Dermendjer; Dato’ Jeffrey Lim, and his wife YBhg Dato’ Anna Lim; YBhg Datuk Ali Abdul Kadir, and Dato’ Mohamed Khadar Merican. The meal commenced with a selection of starters, followed by steaming bowls of Shark’s Fin soup – the chef’s own favourite.
The main courses comprised three delicate dishes: Braised Sea Perch Fillet with Golden Butter Sauce, Pan-Fried Stuffed Scallop with Homemade Beancurd, and Crystal Prawn with Portuguese sauce accompanied by Egg Fried Rice. “I especially liked the stuffed scallop,” a satisfied Datuk Ali Abdul Kadir smiled after the main courses had been cleared.
Wolfberries with Dried Longan Jelly and Baked Milk Puff brought the meal to a close, and the guests were impressed by the delicate ingenuity of the menu, delivered with firstclass service. HE Andrea Wicke closed the evening with some warm words to the staff; “Tonight has been a perfect example of the famous Malaysian hospitality, and I’m sure we will be coming again!”
