With the implementation of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) recently, domestic tourism is now permitted (with ‘new normal’ practices of course!). In light of that, why not take some time off to visit the beautiful district of Sepang – home to some of the nation’s most famous landmarks as well as tranquil villages, miles of palm oil plantations and even a beach community at Bagan Lalang.
Located in the southern part of Selangor, Sepang is home to the nation’s main international airports, and the world-famous Sepang International Circuit, where Malaysia’s biggest motorsports events including the Motorcycle Grand Prix are held each year. This township is also known to be a shopping paradise to many as Selangor’s premium outlet store is situated here, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year.
Here are 10 places that you can visit during your stay:
Start the day with a morning stroll
Kickstart your day by swinging by the prominent Cyberjaya Lake Gardens and soak up the beautiful morning sun while breathing in the fresh, breezy air in the lush greenery.
These tranquil grounds will calm you down and gear you up for a great day ahead. Don’t forget to take that picture-perfect shot for your Instagram feed.
But first, breakfast
Stop by Adik Abang Restaurant, one of the best local joints around, for a morning meal and be spoilt for choice with the extensive menu of mouth-watering Malaysian favourites. Some of the highly recommended dishes here include roti canai, nasi lemak and lontong – which after the morning stroll at Cyberjaya, is sure to hit all the right spots!
Tour Sepang International Circuit
Now that you’ve had your dose of vitamin D and some delicious local brekkie, it’s time to take a tour at this reputed landmark where you will be taken around the whole circuit while learning about the motorsports industry.
The tour includes a visit to the Grandstand, Race Control Room, the premier Perdana Suite, and many more! While you are there, you can also visit the famous Automobile Museum.
Head on to the famous Nasi Padang Minang Batang Kapeh Restaurant in Kampung Salak Tinggi for flavourful, traditional village-style meals. The ikan bakar (Malaysian style grilled fish) and ikan keli dishes are a must try here.

Unwind for teatime
Take a break from all that shopping and chill out at the comfy Book Barter Café.
