British fashion brand Fred Perry has been organising annual concerts centred on street culture and featuring independent artistes for some time now. The Fred Perry Subculture Live as it’s known has now gone online in the wake of COVID-19, whose contagious nature has put a comma on live events.
The concert happens at 8pm Malaysian time Saturday, 14 November 2020 as a digital livestream event that the organisers promise retains the Subculture experience!
Some of the biggest indie acts from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia form the interesting line-up, comprising talents of various backgrounds and styling.
These include punk rock band NO GOOD and Ska musicians GERHANA SKACINTA from Malaysia, indie pop maestros M1LDLIFE and songstress LINYING from Singapore, and indie-alt rockers REALITY CLUB from Indonesia,
The Fred Perry Subculture Live has proven itself over the years to appeal to those who appreciate indie music and general music lover all the same. It casts a revealing light on Southeast Asian indie musicians and what they can bring to the stage, or in this instance screen!
