VIP Travel At KLIA

Malaysia Airports recently launched a unique new initiative encompassing an holistic end-to-gate and fast-track airport experience dubbed KUL VIP Access.

Part of the five-year Runway to Success 2020 business plan, KUL VIP Access is a collaboration between airport and airline, with partners including Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air and AirAsia. The new service, available at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, offers VIP travel to all arriving or departing passengers, and holds customer experience at its heart.

For a fee ranging from RM200 to RM800, the new experience provides exclusive door-to-gate services such as limousine services, exclusive retail and dining deals, as well as escort, buggy and fast-track facilities.

It also incorporates the existing KLIA Premier Access concierge service, along with amenities provided by the Plaza Premium Lounge and KLIA Express.

Where previously a range of different operators offered these various services, under KUL VIP Access, passengers can enjoy the full suite of offerings through a single point-of-contact.

Malaysia Airports will be looking to expand this suite in the future, adding pampering packages including massages, manicures and pedicures – ideal for weary transit or on-the-go travellers.

“Total airport experience is about re-envisioning the airport experience for all our stakeholders. Passenger experience will be at the core with retailers and airlines playing a defining and supporting role,” said Malaysia Airports Managing Director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali at the launch.

“With initiatives such as this, we hope to connect with all our stakeholders and fulfil our mission of creating joyful experiences by connecting people and businesses,” he added.

While these unique experiences are being rolled out, Datuk Badlisham stressed that basic facilities at KLIA will continue to improve to ensure service quality is maintained. Among the latest enhancement is the refurbishment of 67 toilets with new fixtures and fittings, slated for completion in two months.

Other enhancements include a KLIA-klia2 Terminal Transfer, providing seamless connectivity between the terminals; autobag drops to improve efficiency in passenger flow; and the development of a digital app with instant and vital information on offerings and services.

Meanwhile, in conjunction with Malaysia Airports’ 25the anniversary, 100 complimentary KUL VIP Access passes will be given out to Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air and AirAsia passengers over the course of the year.
