To celebrate the annual Earth Hour Movement, Sunway Lagoon will be holding its very first Blackout Beach BBQ at the park’s premier attraction, the Surf Beach.
For those who don’t know, Earth Hour is a global campaign organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature that raises awareness for climate change. Cities all over the world are encouraged to turn off the lights for an hour in support of this worthy cause.
For Sunway Lagoon’s celebration, plenty of performances and a delicious buffet spread are lined up to ensure a memorable night. Launching at 7:30pm, guests will enjoy a delectable BBQ menu which includes lamb, beef and chicken teriyaki skewers, grilled mini burgers and grilled prawn and squid skewer with pineapple. The meal is completed with roasted vegetables and Mediterranean rice as sides.
Entertainment will also be provided in the form of a stunning fire show featuring fire dances, fire breathers and poi spinning; live music acoustic sessions; and sensational themed dance performances.
At 8:30, as tradition dictates, all lights in the park will be dimmed. After the hour has passed, guests will join organisers in lighting 60 candles in honour of the 60 minutes of lights out. Activities and performances will resume until the end of the night.
