Siti Noor Iasah Mohamad Ariffin
Sport: Athletics – 400m T20
Born: 22 Sept 1989
Gold – 2014 Asian Para Games; Bronze – 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships
National Paralympian Siti Noor Iasah Arifin has been steadily making her way up the rankings over the last few years. Her 400-metre game is strong, having narrowly missed on the bronze medal by just a hair at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games. She did however set a new Asian record of 58:55 in that race and that still stands today.
That isn’t her only achievement since picking up the sport in 1999. She edged past her rivals with a time of 1:02.45 at the 2014 AsianPara Games in Incheon, South Korea, to take home the 400m T20 gold, setting a record that she would then smash twice – at the 2015 Doha IPC Athletics World Championships and in the following year at Rio. She is also an accomplished long jumper, with a second place finish at the 2014 Asian Para Games!
Now this middledistance sprinter aims to rewrite the records once again as she steps onto the track at the KL Sports City this September.
