The Malaysian Retail Chain Association (MRCA) recently held its annual Chinese New Year banquet which saw over 850 members and guests throng the Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa for the lively celebration.

MRCA Organising Chairman and Council Member Brian Tham likened the banquet to the traditional open house hosted by Malaysians, uniting and strengthening bonds of friendship among people from all walks of life.

“This event gives the retail chain industry members and guests a golden opportunity to take a break from their busy work schedules and foster closer relationship with one another. It is a medium through which the people unite for the continuity of the country’s harmony and progress,” said Tham.

Recognised by many as one of the most active retail associations in Malaysia, the MRCA plays an important part in promoting Malaysian franchise brand names abroad, while actively supporting the government’s policies in positioning the country as one of the top shopping destinations in the world.

Not only does it act as an excellent avenue for retail businesses to network, exchange ideas and share resources, it also a highly supportive of environment to help build businesses and pool ideas to continuously expand beyond the shores of Malaysia.
