The Moroccan Gastronomic Week at the Ritz-Carlton

In collaboration with The Moroccan National Tourist office, César’s Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur, will play host to an eight-day dining affair filled with bright colours, lively music and the finest in Moroccan cuisine.

 Having specially flown in two esteemed Moroccan chefs, The Moroccan National Tourist office aims to inspire and introduce new taste sensations into the local food scene.

Putting on a gastronomic show like no other in the city, Moroccan-based Chef Faical Zahraoui and Chef Ousama Sadiq will join Executive Chef Mohan Delingannu to create innovative culinary surprises and new gastronomic experiences for discerning diners.

The Ladies and Gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur will also be a part of this unique experience, particularly those of Moroccan nationality, as they will bring their wealth of knowledge and passion of the culture through hosting their valued guests.

“We are delighted to be hosting Chef Faical Zahraoui and Chef Ousama Sadiq at César’s restaurant to share a range of intriguing and sophisticated flavour combinations that Morocco is famous for. In order to create an authentic Moroccan vibe we have also arranged for a Moroccan folklore band to be present during this gastronomic week ” said Delingannu.

Delicacies to look out for include dishes such as tajine de viande aux petit pois et artichauts – tender meat with peas and specially imported artichokes from Morocco. Poulet au citron et pomme noisette which comprises succulent roasted chicken cooked with olives, potatoes and lemons and pastille au poulet et amandes, a delectable three-layer pie which is both savoury and sweet, wrapped with the thinnest of pastry.

For the sweet connoisseurs, the religieuse à la crème d’Amlou, two choux buns filled with a pastry cream made of toasted almonds, argan oil and honey blend called amlou is available, as well as the croustillant fruits sec à l`huiled’Argan a crisp pastry with dried fruits topped with sugar and argan oil.

The Moroccan dinner is served as a buffet and is priced at RM138nett per adult and RM69nett per child and will be available from 24-31 July, 2015 at César’s Restaurant, Level One of The Ritz- Carlton, Kuala Lumpur.
