Perched on the roof of Bangsar Village is Telawi’s latest hot spot, Mantra. With a view that encompasses the iconic KL landmarks and city skyline, the location has the distinction of being the first rooftop bar in the neighbourhood. Modern in design, it has a cosy interior with plenty of intimate alcoves, as well as seating areas featuring large day beds on the balcony.
Innovation is the keyword here and it is obvious in the bar’s unique Asian-fusion style tapas and creatively presented cocktails which use their own home-brewed Bentong ginger ale.
The must-try drinks include the Pulau Panjang, the bar’s version of a Long Island Iced Tea which is served in a stainless steel cup, much like the popular Malaysian refreshment teh tarik and is, as the menu states, ‘deceptively potent’. Those looking for something sweeter will probably enjoy the gin-based Dynasty, served in a traditional Chinese teapot, or the delectable Sky Juice which comes beach-ready in a fresh coconut.
