2 November 2017:
Wine enthusiasts need only head to Telawi’s latest hangout to indulge in some of the city’s rarest and finest bottles
If you’re a wine connoisseur then you’ll love La Cave. This unassuming new outlet on Bangsar’s trendy Telawi is filled with best vintages and hard-to-find bottles sold at a pleasingly wide variety of price points (from RM50 up to RM400). With wines from 14 difference countries, including Halal wines for the diverse Malaysian market, there’s something for everyone among the 200 labels that call Le Cave home.
Translating to ‘The Cellar’ from French, La Cave is the brainchild of fourth generation winemaker Florian Paul Raymond and entrepreneur Donnie Eugene Maclary, rugby mates who decided to combine their expertise and passion for wine to create Bangsar’s newest wine hub.
Carefully curated by Raymond, La Cave’s wine list is a blend of old and new world wines, and if you’re after something specific but don’t know where to start, the staff will be more than willing to lend a hand in choosing a bottle that fits your fancy.
Complementing the wines is as a selection of fine alcohols that you’ll be hard up finding elsewhere in KL. Exceptional spirits, imported beers and more, you’ll find them all at La Cave Add to this a hearty snack menu with pizzas, cheese platters, patés and other meaty delights, and you have the makings of homely bar you’ll be visiting time and again.
