The Symposium is organised jointly by Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and International Tropical Fruits Network (TFNet) under the auspices of International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS). It is also co-organised by the Department of Agriculture, Malaysia (DOA) and Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority, Malaysia (FAMA).
The world’s biggest and most important postharvest event under the Commission of Quality and Postharvest Horticulture of ISHS is held every four years; the last one was held in Antalya, Turkey. It is a great honour for Malaysia for being selected to host the coming IPS 2012, the first to be held in this region
